Capcom has just filed for a new trademark in its native Japan for something called Biohazard Umbrella Corps, leading many to believe that the next Resident Evil survival horror game might sport this subtitle.

The Resident Evil series is known around the world, but for its Japanese market, Capcom employs the Biohazard name for the whole series.

As such, after DualShockers spotted a trademark registration for Biohazard Umbrella Corps, it's quite clear that the Japanese company is gearing up to announce a new Resident Evil game that might feature the Umbrella Corps subtitle.

The announcement could arrive next month, at Gamescom 2015, or, more probably, in September, at the Tokyo Games Show 2015 event.

As of yet, not much else is known, but the trademark covers target platforms such as "TV Home Consoles, Mobile, and portable consoles with LCD screens." As such, the new game might appear not just on regular consoles but also on portable devices like the PS Vita or even smartphones and tablets.

Capcom hasn't commented just yet on the trademark but it has teased the next major Resident Evil game in recent times, although many have thought it was the oft-rumored Resident Evil 7, which still isn't official just yet.
