The safe units lack the rumored markings

Samsung announced the global recall of 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 units two weeks ago and it recently stated that replacement units would start arriving in the US on September 21. Some European countries will see the first shipments of safe Galaxy Note 7 phones on September 19, while in Australia they're set to arrive on September 21.

It seems that Samsung has started to ship safe Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to Canada already, although the official arrival date is September 19. A Redditor posted images of the safe Galaxy Note 7, together with an apology letter from the company that also contained a list of locations where faulty Note 7 units can be dropped off.

It seems that the safe Galaxy Note 7 might not come with all the rumored markings after all. The image of the retail box doesn't have the blue S letter in a white circle as speculated, but a black square instead. In addition, the phone won't come with a green battery icon to indicate that it's part of the batch of safe Galaxy Note 7 units. Presumably, that could be fixed with a future update.

130,000 Galaxy Note 7 units have been replaced

The owner of the safe Galaxy Note 7 was encouraged to update the previously purchased Extended Warranty with the new device's IMEI and serial number. As it turns out, he received a sealed retail box with all accessories inside.

Samsung recently announced that 130,000 Galaxy Note 7 units from all over the world have been replaced. The company had previously revealed that 21,953 Galaxy Note 7 units had been sold in Canada until September 1, when the recall was announced and all sales were halted.

The phone maker is already working with the CPSC in the US on the exchange program, and Note 7 owners can get a loaner phone until their safe Galaxy Note 7 units arrive or request a full refund.
