Samsung’s refurbished Galaxy Note 7R will apparently arrive under a different retail name, specifically the Galaxy Note FE. A report by ETNews reveals that the Galaxy Note FE could arrive by the end of June in South Korea.

Previous reports stated that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 would carry the retail name Note 7R, with the letter “R” standing for refurbished. Leaked images backed this theory, but the new report seems to have information that suggests otherwise.

The “FE” moniker in the retail name for the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will reportedly stand for “Fan Edition.” Perhaps Samsung intends to provide the refurbished version with a name that isn’t too similar to that of the original version. That being said, the refurbished model won’t be much different from the original Note 7.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will have a smaller battery

As such, the battery capacity inside the refurbished model is said to reach 3,200mAh, significantly smaller than the 3,500mAh juicer found in the original Galaxy Note 7. But other than this, Samsung isn’t expected to bring changes to the refurbished model and is said to have made no modifications in terms of processor model or RAM capacity, while the S Pen stylus should also accompany the Galaxy Note 7R or Galaxy Note FE.

Whether the report is true or not is difficult to determine at this point, but we’re inclined to believe that the Galaxy Note 7R retail name would be a better fit. The refurbished model already received a number of certifications, but Samsung didn’t specifically say when the phone would arrive in stores.

Still, the report mentions that customers in Korea will be able to purchase the phone by end of June, and it's said to arrive in a number of other countries, but not the US. Samsung has already stated that it won’t sell the refurbished model in the US or Canada. The phone’s price could be as low as half of the original model.
