A refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone received WiFi certification just yesterday, and it seems that its launch date has surfaced in a report from Samsung’s home country. Thus, the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will make its way to South Korea at the end of June.

During the first month of summer, South Koreans will be able to purchase the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 for the price of $620. This means that the refurbished variant will see a 30% price cut and will be sold for $255 less than the original Note 7, which had a price tag of about $870 in the country.

It remains to be seen if the variant’s price will be the same in other markets where it will launch, but presumably, Samsung will be offering the refurbished Note 7 with a price that’s about a third lower than for the original unit. Of course, taxes differ from country to country, so it’s difficult to speculate on the exact price.

Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 with 3,000mAh battery

Out of all 3-4 million recalled Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, Samsung intends to refurbish and sell about 300,000 units in Korea, while another chunk will be offered to customers in Vietnam and other countries, which have yet to be revealed.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will most likely carry the retail name Galaxy Note 7R and the report reveals some details about its specs. While internal components are expected to stay the same, the original battery of 3,500mAh was replaced by a 3,000mAh unit, with a lower capacity than expected.

Some previous reports hinted towards a 3,200mAh battery inside the refurbished model, but it seems that Samsung opted for an even lower capacity to exclude any issues with the juicer. Obviously, refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphones will go through 8-point quality assurance tests, to make sure that they’re safe to use.

The smartphones will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Samsung has yet to specifically say which select markets will receive the phone, but the company did reveal that the US and Canada aren’t on the list.
