Samsung is preparing to launch the refurbished version of the Galaxy Note 7, the smartphone that went through a recall and was later discontinued last year. The Note 7R recently received certification and now the smartphone was spotted on Geekbench.

The listing reveals one variant of the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 featuring Exynos 8890 SoC with an octa-core CPU and 4GB of RAM, just like last year’s model. The single-core test revealed a score of 1939, while the multi-core one 6093.

A second variant appears to run Samsung's Exynos 8895 SoC, meaning that Samsung is testing multiple options for the Galaxy Note 7R.

The smartphone is known to come with a 3,200mAh battery inside, smaller than the initial model’s 3,500mAh juicer. It will also run Android 7.0 out of the box. Samsung will replace the battery units inside refurbished Note 7 variants, as they were found to be at fault and caused some original models to overheat and catch fire.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7R should arrive next month

The rest of the specs should remain the same as on the original model, which means a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution and 64GB of internal memory. The fingerprint sensor is embedded inside the home button and the phone comes with IP68 certification, which means that it has protection against water and dust damages.

Rear camera capacity is 12MP with f/1.7 aperture, OIS and PDAF features. The front camera has a 5MP lens with f/1.7 aperture. The refurbished Galaxy Note 7R will also have an iris scanner and will be available in Coral Blue, Silver, White and Black color options.

Its price is expected to reach $620 and the phone will be marketed in countries like South Korea and Vietnam. Sadly, it won’t arrive to the US or Canada. More details will be provided next month, when Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 7R and reveal which countries will receive the refurbished phone.
