14 DAY TRIAL // Red Hat, Inc., the world's leading provider of open source solutions, is proud to announce the general availability of its Red Hat Software Collection 2.2 and Red Hat Developer Toolset 4.1.
These are the final releases of the Red Hat Software Collections 2.2 and Red Hat Developer Toolset 4.1, after they've been in development for the past month. The Betas were released at the beginning of May, so most of the developers who had access to Red Hat's Customer Portal could test them and report bugs or submit feature requests.
Major new features implemented in Red Hat Software Collections 2.2 include: support for new open-source databases, such as MariaDB 10.1, PostgreSQL 9.5, and MongoDB 3.2; support for several new open-source programming languages like Python 3.5, Ruby 2.3, Rails 4.2, Maven 3.3, and Node.js v4.4; and many other updated components, among which Apache 2.4, MongoDB 2.6, Thermostat 1.4, and Python 2.7.

Here's what's new in Red Hat Developer Toolset 4.1
Now that we've told you what's new in the Red Hat Software Collections 2.2 release, let's have a quick look at the new features implemented by the Red Hat engineers in Red Hat Developer Toolset 4.1. Probably the most important one is support for the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) 5.3, but we can't help but notice that GNU Project Debugger (GDB) 7.11 and Eclipse IDE 4.5.2 are supported as well in this new version.
Lastly, Red Hat Developer Toolset 4.1 comes packed with a multiple updated performance tools and toolchain components, among which we can mention SystemTap 2.9 and Dynist 9.1. Both Red Hat Software Collections 2.2 and Red Hat Developer Toolset 4.1 are now available for all customers who have an active subscription. They are accessible from the Red Hat Customer Portal, where you'll also find Dockerfiles and Docker-formatted images.
