Supports the latest 64-bit ARM v8A architecture

Red Hat had the great pleasure of announcing the immediate availability of the first Development Preview of their upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.1 for ARM operating system.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.1 for ARM is a new product from Red Hat, one of the world's biggest open-source software companies, and it promises to bring the RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) operating system to the 64-bit ARM hardware architecture.

The Development Preview of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.1 for ARM is currently available to end users as an unsupported development platform, as well as to all members of the Red Hat ARM Partner Early Access Program.

"Beyond this release, we plan to continue collaborating with our partner ISVs and OEMs, end users, and the broader open source community to enhance and refine the platform to ultimately work with the next generation of ARM-based designs," says Red Hat in the press release attached below.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.1 for ARM inherits all of RHEL's extraordinary features loved by IT companies around the world, but it also comes with the latest version of the Linux kernel to provide support for the 64-bit ARM v8A architecture.

Additionally, Red Hat's new product for the 64-bit ARM architecture promises to offer a familiar computing environment, as well as all the tools from the upstream Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system that existing customer love and use daily.
