On August 5, Red Hat, Inc. announced the general and official availability of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7, a release that introduces numerous new features and performance improvements.

Probably the most important feature of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7 is the addition of a new management and deployment tool that was designed by Red Hat from the ground up to simplify the installation of the OpenStack platform on top of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 operating system.

The new deployment and management tool also promises to ease your day-to-day management tasks, as well as to establish the foundations for upgrades for subsequent releases of the OpenStack platform, as well as for orchestrated live system updates. Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7 is based on the OpenStack Kilo release.

"We have raised the standard for production-ready OpenStack with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 7. With increased adoption of OpenStack, we are excited about addressing the need for reduced time to solution with a truly open approach that enables automated deployment and lifecycle management of the infrastructure," says Radhesh Balakrishnan, General Manager, OpenStack, Red Hat.
