Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 arrives today for existing customers with an active Red Hat subscription, bringing dozens of improvements, bug fixes, and many exciting new capabilities (see below for a detailed list), all in order to keep the highly acclaimed and widely used GNU/Linux operating system stable and reliable at all times, as a trusted platform for any critical IT infrastructure.

What's new in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8
New features in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 include the libreswan library to provide an extra layer of security for VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), which replaces the previous implementation based on the Openswan project, the addition of new abilities to the Identity Management client code (SSSD) component to provide customers with better client-side performance and simpler management.
Furthermore, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 ships today with the Relax-and-Recover system archiving tool to ease the life of system administrators, the dmstats tool for better visibility into storage usage and performance, as well as support for up to 300 TB on XFS formatted filesystems, thanks to the addition of the Scalable File System Add-on. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 is now available for all customers through the Red Hat Customer Portal.
