The first photos of the Raspberry Pi 3 single-board computer (SBC) have been leaked earlier in a recent FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing by Raspberry Pi Trading Ltd (a.k.a. Raspberry Pi Foundation).

The first signs of the existence of an upcoming Raspberry Pi 3 Model B board come exactly one year after the release of Raspberry Pi 2 in February 2015, and it looks like February is the perfect month of the year for the Raspberry Pi Foundation to announce a new Raspberry Pi board, as the company's first SBC, Raspberry Pi 1 model B+, was announced four years ago, on February 2012.

From the documentation submitted by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to FCC, it looks like the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B single-board computer should come with built-in Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz operation only), as well as Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) support, which might sound very attractive to all Raspberry Pi fans that have waited patiently for these features to come to the world's most popular SBC board.

More details are forthcoming Raspberry Pi 3 Model B single-board computer are expected to be revealed at the end of February 2016, and if we're lucky enough we might even get to see a possible launch, but it is too early to speak about a release date, not to mention the fact that the exact specifications are yet to be revealed. However, the first photos show that it has components and design similar to those of the previous model.

Update: Raspberry Pi 3 has been officially released on February 29, 2016, and you can purchase one right now from the official website.
