Ramos is a well-known Chinese tablet maker, which seems to have big plans for the smartphone market as well. The company has just announced its first flagships smartphone, the Mos1, which will be available beginning August 10.

Some of you might remember that a certain Ramos Q7 prototype that packed a huge 7-inch display and Windows Phone operating system was spotted in the wild. Since then, however, we did not hear anything else about the alleged Windows Phone handset.

Today, the Chinese company announced that the Mos1 will be available for purchase in China for just 1,999 yuan outright, which is about $320 or €290.

Design-wise, it looks like Ramos conducted several surveys among customers to find out where they should put the buttons on the sides of the phone and what the edges of the smartphone look like.

According to the company, the Mos1 features a layered side that features a 158 degree angle curve. The rest of the phone is CNC machined to 0.01mm accuracy and is made of 6063 series aluminum.

This is a tough alloy that features 0.4% to 0.5% Silicon and 0.7% to 0.9% Magnesium. Ramos claims that the results of the surveys suggested that the buttons place on the side of the phone should stand at 0.3mm.

Little chance for Mos1 to be released outside China

Moving on to specs, the Mos1 is more than decent for the price you pay. It comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with a basic Ramos MOUI user interface on top.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Sadly, there's no mention of microSD card slot.

Ramos also confirmed that the Mos1 sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating and 2.5D glass design.

There's also a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.

The Mos1 will be powered by a high-capacity 3,050 mAh battery and is said to feature 1.9mm side bezel and 6.6mm thickness.

In the same piece of news, Ramos announced plans to launch an oversize version of Mos1, which will be called Mos1 Max and will come with a 6-inch display and 6,000 mAh battery.
