The developers of the open-source, Qt-based, free, lightweight, modern, fast and cross-platform QupZilla web browser announced this past weekend a new update for the software.

According to the internal changelog, which we've attached at the end of the article for reference, QupZilla 1.8.7 includes several interesting changes, such as the ability to save pinned tabs per-window when using the restore session functionality, as well as the ability to open links in a new window using the Shift key and Left mouse click.

Additionally, there's a new button in QupZilla 1.8.7 that lets users create GreaseMonkey-based userscripts, two new keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Shift+G and Ctrl+G) for the search toolbar, an "Anti-Adblock Killer" AdBlock subscription, and support for toggling the Web Inspector via the "Show Web Inspector" action.

There's now support for Qt 5.5 and GCC 4.9

Lots of bugs were fixed in QupZilla 1.8.7, such as compilation errors with the Qt 5.5, GCC 4.9, and KDE Frameworks 5 KWallet technologies, a crash that occurred when attempting to block a pop-up window with AdBlock, AdBlock icon animation, accepting of certain cookies, creation of new configuration folder, and saving of New Tab URLs and homepage from preferences.

The dial options are now centered in the SpeedDial and users will be able to save the settings without changing pages, the Find and Select All actions from the menu were fixed, the restore page is now displayed when attempting to open a new URL from the command-line, and runtime detection of the X Windows System (X11) is now used on GNU/Linux operating systems.

Last but not least, users will be able to search for strings from the locationbar using special whitespaces, add search engines from a form on a web page with Qt 5, and escape characters for File or FTP directory listings. Download QupZilla 1.8.7 for GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X operating systems right now from Softpedia, and for other platforms from the project's website.
