The Qt Company, through Jani Heikkinen, is pleased to announce today the availability of the first point releases of the recently launched Qt 5.9 LTS application framework and Qt Creator 4.3 IDE.

Shipping with all the latest performance improvements and bug fixes from the long-term supported Qt 5.9 branch, Qt 5.9.1 is the first patch release of the series, which means that it doesn't add any new functionality.

"Our intention is to make more frequent patch releases for Qt 5.9 LTS than before. So if your most desired fix is not included in Qt 5.9.1 there will be more patch releases in the coming months," says Jani Heikkinen in today's announcement.

There are a bunch of fixes implemented in Qt 5.9.1, and we recommend studying the full changelog, which contains detailed information about every single component that has been updated in this maintenance release.

Along with the release of Qt 5.9.1, the development team also made available a hot patch for Apple's iOS 10.3 mobile operating system that fixes an issue which they identified just before the launch of Qt 5.9.1.

Qt Creator 4.3.1 improves running of Qt apps on iOS 10.3 devices

Included in the Qt 5.9.1 offline installer packages, there's the first point release of the Qt Creator 4.3 IDE (Integrated Development Environment), which fixes a memory leak in code completion affecting 32-bit Windows users.

It also improves running of Qt apps on iOS 10.3 devices, addresses some project tree-related regressions, and adds an extra layer of performance improvements for the CMake integration.

You can download both Qt 5.9.1 and Qt Creator 4.3.1 for GNU/Linux, macOS, or Windows operating systems right now from our website, or update your installations through the maintenance tool if you're using the online installer.
