14 DAY TRIAL // The developers of the open-source and cross-platform qBittorrent BitTorrent client have released a new maintenance update to the qBittorrent 3.3 stable series for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
qBittorrent 3.3.11 is now the latest and most advanced version of the free BitTorrent client, but it also looks like it's the last point release in the series as the developers plan to bump the application's version to a new major build that should introduce a brand-new icon theme and deprecate support for the Qt 4 GUI toolkit.
"There are a few WebUI security fixes. This will be the last release in the v3.3.x series. Next release will have a new icon theme(at least) and will drop Qt4 support. Also Qt 5.7.1 seems to be the last release supporting Windows XP. It is unknown how long I am going to still support it," reads the release announcement.
Here's what's new in qBittorrent 3.3.11
qBittorrent 3.3.11 might be the last in the series, but it also appears to be a feature-rich update that adds a new keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+F) to search for torrents, separates seeds from peers for the DHT, LSD, and PeX functions, implements a category filter widget that displays categories in tree mode, and shows remaining bytes and progress for unselected files.
It also lets users change the priority for unselected files via a combobox, makes use of the numbers from the tracker scrape response, allows users to toggle columns in the search tab, adds extra information in the tracker tab, and introduces a couple of hotkeys for Trackerlist, Peerlist, Execution Log tab, as well as double click and recheck selected torrents.
Numerous improvements were implemented for the web-based interface (WebUI), and many other components have received attention in this update, including the RSS and Search ones.
