14 DAY TRIAL // The iPhone 7 is expected to launch in September this year with what are said to be rather minor improvements, and a new leak coming from China claims to reveal that gold version of the 4.7-inch model.
Since it was published by Chinese sources, this photo shouldn’t be taken for granted by any means, but although it could very well be fake, there are some changes that actually made sense and that also showed up in other leaks too.
First of all, the leak shows the exact same design “improvements” that have been disclosed by other sources, including the antenna lines that are now placed at the top and the bottom.
The camera has also been moved closer to the side of the phone, which means that, although the iPhone 7 and the 6s will have a similar design and dimensions, you won’t be able to use your old case with the new model.
Laser autofocus on iPhone 7?
But what’s more interesting is that there’s a new module placed near the camera, which might be there for laser autofocus. This should help improve photo quality by offering better and faster autofocus, but keep in mind that there’s no other source claiming that such a feature is coming on the iPhone 7.
On the other hand, it appears that the camera continues to use the metal ring that’s currently on the iPhone 6s, so the camera bump is still there despite rumors claiming that Apple wanted to remove it completely.
This photo shows the 4.7-inch version of the iPhone 7, so there’s no dual camera system available on this model. Pundits hinted that should such a feature be offered on the next iPhone, it would only make it on the iPhone 7 Plus, thus helping Apple make a bigger difference between the standard model and the larger one.
The new iPhone generation is expected to be introduced in September with iOS 10, the new version that’s likely to be previewed next month at WWDC.
