Claiming to be the world's thinnest 4K television set, the new X90C Bravia is 4.9mm in its thinnest upper side, thinner than an Xperia Z3 smartphone.

The new Sony LCD LED UHD series comes with the flexible Android TV platform which basically turns your TV into a massive Android smartphone enabling users to turn their actual phones into remote controls anytime they want.

The features these new TVs come with are pretty vast and generally use Sony's in-house technologies to enhance all the visual features the new Bravia series have in the 3,840 x 2,160 4K format.

The entire new Bravia series uses the Android Lollipop 5.0 version, giving a very familiar feel to most Android users, while the Bravia Flagship X90C uses besides the ARM v.7 SoC, Sony's own X1 image processor for excellent image rendition, supersampling available image sources to fit its 4K scale and native resolution. Regarding ports and connectors, we were surprised to see 4xHDMI 2.0 ports, 2xUSB 3.0 ports and even one coaxial port. The lack of DisplayPorts was, however, jarring.

The new TVs will also support Google Cast by having the applications running on your smartphone played on your TV via wireless connections. If you don't have your smartphone at your disposal, worry not, the new Bravia series come with an all-in-one One Flick Entertainment remote control that with only a handful of buttons can control your TV apps, Voice Command and Google Cast streaming option.

One interesting feature is that Voice command recognition will have a larger database of recognizable languages, helping Sony's new Bravia series integrate very well on local non-English speaking markets.

However, the real addition is the top-of-the line Sony X1 4K processor that comes on the X90C series. Working together with ARMs SoC, the new chip, apparently made by Sony, will enhance most of the device's main visual features like the X-tended Dynamic Range for contrast, Triluminous for display color and the 4K X-reality Pro for image clarity. Triluminous also enjoys the precision color mapping feature that enables color adjustments in real time for a better and more precise image rendition.

Sound-wise, the new Wedge-based Bravia X94C and X93C will enjoy High-Resolution Audio compatible sound systems, managing to accurately reproduce extremely high frequencies, up to 96kHz while being processed by Sony's DSEE HX sound-enhancement engine reaching Hi-Res 24bit sound.

The new high-end Bravia series is available for purchase all around the world with 4K models like X95B, X94C, X93C, X90C, S85C, X85C, X83C coming in sizes varying from 43" X83C to 85" X95B, the largest of the Bravias.

Price-wise, these new TV sets aren't really for ordinary wallets as they will cost around $3742 for 55" series up to $5489 for the X93C model.
