Or at least make the innocent pooch look like one

Like the elusive Yeti, the Loch Ness monster and sparkly vegetarian vampires, werewolves are creatures of the imagination. Or at least they used to be.

You see, there's this company in Russia that makes and sells muzzles supposedly designed to turn people's dog into fierce and positively terrifying werewolves.

Before you ask, there is nothing magical about these muzzles. So, no, they do not actually turn innocent pooches into beasts with a sweet tooth for human flesh.

What the muzzles do is simply make dogs look like werewolves to unaware observers. If we're going to be honest here, the transformation is quite disturbing.

The muzzles come complete with giant teeth, all pointy and bloody. Unless you know exactly what you're dealing with, the sight will surely send you running for the hills. Screaming.

As scary as they might seem, the muzzles are, in fact, as dog friendly as it gets. They are made of a non-toxic plastic, and what with all the space in between the panic-inducing teeth, the pooches wearing them have no trouble breathing through their mouth.

Why would anyone want such a muzzle for their dog?

The company making and marketing these fashion accessories for dogs says it created the muzzles just for kicks. Because, you know, there's nothing quite as entertaining as walking around holding a supposed werewolf on a leash.

“This muzzle is just a comic alternative. It is rather made for fun than for training,” a happy customer by the name of Marina Kurulyova explained in an interview.

All the same, it looks like there is at least one perk to putting a werewolf muzzle on your beloved pet. Thus, it's safe to assume that, with a werewolf by your side, you won't have to worry about going for a walk in the park late at night as no would-be attackers would dare approach you.
