The Lumia 950 XL is indeed a monster when it comes to hardware specifications, so you can easily play any game found in the store at the moment, but your options pretty much stop at titles designed to run on Windows 10 Mobile.

A new brilliant idea comes from Chinese console manufacturer GPD, who is looking into ways to create a Windows 10 gaming console that would be powered by the full version of the operating system. This means that you might be able to play almost every game compatible with Windows 10, although there’ll certainly be some limitations because of the small screen.

Currently in project phase, the device could be launched sometime in the near future if the feedback the company gets from Dingoonity users is positive (via Winbeta). But right now, the renderings that you can also see here look brilliant for a Windows 10 portable gaming console and might actually work if implementation is done in the right way.

Technical specifications

The manufacturer also has some technical specs for the device, and it all starts with 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The gaming console would be powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 / Z8550 quad-core Cherry Trail processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory. microSD card support would also be provided for capacity expanded up to 128 GB.

Additionally, the device would ship with a 6,000 mAh battery that could provide up to 8 hours of online gaming, but also with 1 USB Type-C port, 1 USB 3.0 port, microSD audio and video connectors, 3.5mm headset jack , Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.

Remember that it’s all in early development stages right now, but hopefully, the Chinese or any other company will consider this idea doable and will go forward with the project.
