Sony Computer Entertainment has dropped the price for the 500GB PlayStation 4 video game console in a few regions, including Europe.

Rumors about a price cut for PlayStation 4 have been floating around for some time, with Microsoft being one of the first to say this publicly a while back. Well, as it turns out, the rumors were true, but no one really expected them to be false.

Sony is known to pull these kinds of moves before the holiday season, but this is in fact just the announcement made for the rest of the world that was not included in the previous price cut.

Sony dropped the prices for PlayStation 4 a couple of weeks ago for the United States and Japan, so now the rest of the territories are just catching up. On the other hand, Microsoft already dropped the prices for Xbox One in September, so we should see a nice console battle during the holidays season.

Cut all the prices!

"Since the launch of PS4 our aim has always been to provide players with the best gaming experiences at the best value, and we’ve been thrilled with the amount of players who have joined our world. If you haven’t made the jump to next-gen yet, then we have some good news for you. We are pleased to announce that from today the 500GB PS4 will be available across the SCEE region* from the new low price of €349.99/£299.99 (RRP)," reads the announcement made by Sony.

As you can imagine, the price cut is not the only move made by Sony. They also put together a number of bundles that should be really interesting, like the PS4 Ultimate Player 1TB Edition, PS4 500GB Edition, PS4 White Edition, Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition PS4, Destiny: The Taken King Limited Edition PS4, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Limited Edition PS4, Star Wars Battlefront Limited Edition PS4, Call of Duty: Black Ops III Limited Edition PS4, and the 20th Anniversary Edition PS4. Enjoy!
