Video game developer Obsidian announced during E3 2015 that it was planning to deliver an expansion for Pillars of Eternity called The White March, and the company is now ready to offer more details about the additions and improvements that fans will be able to experience.

The new companions that gamers will be able to use in their party are Zahua, a monk who was previously named Forton, and the Devil of Caroc, a capable rogue with an unusual appearance.

Both of them are designed to introduce more options for the players, and each comes with an interesting personality and abilities that can benefit each group when it comes to combat.

Zahua is created by Eric Fenstermaker and is a Tacan who has chosen to become a member of the Nalpazca, an order of warrior-monks that acts as an army.

The character believes suffering is important to self-enlightenment and it will allow him to become the most powerful combatant in the world.

Obsidian states, "The player will meet and get to know Zahua as a party member in White March Part I, and then his vision quest will come into focus later, in Part II."

The Devil of Caroc is created by Carrie Patel and is a golem inhabited by the soul of a convicted murderer, designed to challenge the perceptions of gamers. The character is intriguing enough for gamers to want to explore his origins.

Pillars of Eternity is getting a 2.0 version when the White March launches

Obsidian has been listening to the feedback coming from gamers ever since its role-playing game was first launched and is aiming to deliver a 2.0 update when the new expansion is introduced.

The company explains that it wants to make sure that players can focus on their own character during combat without having to micro-manage the rest of the party at all times.

The 2.0 version of Pillars of Eternity will be free for everyone, and other quality of life improvements are also being delivered.

The White March expansion does not yet have an official launch date, but it will probably arrive before the end of this year.

Obsidian also says that all gamers should have received their DVDs of Pillars of Eternity if they contributed at the appropriate level.
