phpMyAdmin, the popular tool written in PHP and intended to handle the administration of MySQL databases, is now at version 4.2.1.

The final iteration of phpMyAdmin 4.2.1 has been released and packs almost the same number of changes as the previous build, even if it's just a maintenance version.

According to the changelog, it's now possible to display the table structure with enums containing special characters, the length of user and host fields in MySQL tables is now correctly imported, it's now possible to remove the last remembered sorted column, a missing source for OpenLayers library has been fixed, and incorrect attributes for number fields have been fixed.

Also, users can now update values in Zoom search, the GIS Visualization Extension now works with the PointFromText() function, the "Rows" total is no longer shown wrong when truncating or dropping a table from the DB Structure page, grid edit on sorted columns no longer fails, a null checkbox is no longer covering data input when editing, and the data type is no longer changing by itself.

A complete list of changes is available in the official changelog, which can also be found in the downloaded source archive. You can download phpMyAdmin 4.2.1 right now from Softpedia.
