14 DAY TRIAL // One month after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their decision to separate after 10 years of marriage, photos have emerged to confirm reports that the reason Jennifer pulled the plug on the relationship was his affair with their children’s nanny.
On July 17, Christine Ouzounian, the 28-year-old woman who was in the family’s employment for a few months but then was mysteriously fired in June, visited Ben at his rental home in the dead of night, went inside and emerged 2 hours later.
Photos confirm Affleck cheated
According to reports, the marriage was already in trouble and Ben and Jen had agreed a trial separation would be ideal before deciding to give up on it altogether. They even went to the Bahamas together as a family, to see if they might still work as a couple.
The split wasn’t official, so technically, when he slept with the nanny on that trip, he cheated on Jen. Some days before that, he even took her to Las Vegas with him (and there were no kids around for her to mind), telling her it would be ok.
When Jennifer found out about this, she fired Ouzounian and went ahead and announced the divorce: there was clearly no sense in her fighting for the marriage since Ben had already given up on it.
So, on July 17, Ouzounian was at her former employer’s house, as photos over at Radar Online confirm. She drove in his car, punched in the security code outside and he emerged. They’re seen laughing as she passes him a bottle of champagne she brought with her.
While the photos don’t show them kissing or even hugging, they make it clear that they’re close. ET says that she walked inside and emerged 2 hours later, so this wasn’t a brief visit to drop something.
Ouzounian is the source of the leak of the story
It was the nanny who actually tipped off the paparazzi, so they knew to hide in the bushes and use long lenses to catch this nighttime rendezvous. It is said that, at the time, she just wanted something to have against Ben, in case he thought of dumping her: photos of their meeting would have to do as leverage.
Word has it that he found out about it and was furious that she would betray his confidence like that. He broke it off that very day and she went with her story to the tabloids.
Naturally, Affleck’s publicist insists that there was nothing inappropriate about the actor’s relationship with the nanny. As for this particular visit, the rep says she came over because they’d become friends and he wanted a shoulder to cry on because he was sad about the divorce from Garner.
However, if you look at the photos, “sad” is the last thing that would come to mind in relation to Affleck’s mood that night.
