Famous landmark on Yahoo's technology

Yahoo updated its search engine with a new element, adding interoperability with Flickr, the online photo sharing service owned by the company. You're now able to view photo thumbnails of the most famous landmarks straight into the SERP, just like you'd do in any other shortcut provided by Yahoo. The pictures are all provided by the Flickr community, so you might view the image uploaded on the service straight on the Yahoo search engine result page.

"With the help of Flickr Interestingness, we are now able to surface some of the most beautiful, creative, and popular photos from the Flickr community directly into the search results. Clicking on the thumbnails will take you to Flickr where you can explore further, set up your own account, and share your best shots too. This feature adds to the popular Flickr integration for funny photos and interesting photos on Yahoo! Search," Carlos Teran, Yahoo Search, sustained today.

One week ago, Yahoo announced the closure of Photos, the company aiming to make Flickr the main online photo sharing service of the giant portal. Today, Yahoo debuted the first Flickr update after the Photos closure, so I guess we should expect some new updates soon. "We plan to continue the expansion of this experience and very much welcome your ideas and thoughts," the Yahoo employee added.

The Yahoo Shortcuts are increasingly used by the parent company to provide more information of the SERP and allow users to access several services provided by the company straight from the search technology. In the past, Yahoo made several implementations, including Movies, Lyrics and other services into the search results published on the search engine result page.
