Yesterday, January 3rd, Softpedia announced the immediate availability for download and testing of the Pear OS Linux Debian Edition Alpha 1 operating system.

Today, we're presenting a screenshot tour of the upcoming Pear OS Linux Debian Edition distribution, created by French developer David Tavares, the man behind the Pear OS Linux operating system.

Pear OS Linux Debian Edition is based on the Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.3 (Squeeze) distro, it is powered by Linux kernel 2.6.32, provides the classic GNOME 2.30 desktop environment, and it's customized to look like a Mac OS desktop.

Pear OS Linux Debian Edition contains the following applications: Shotwell Photo Manager, XSane Image scanner, Mozilla Firefox, AbiWord, Gnumeric, Brasero, Cheese, Clementine, Totem Movie Player, Back In Time, BleachBit, and Synaptic Package Manager.

See the Pear OS Linux Debian Edition announcement for more info.

Download Pear OS Linux Debian Edition Alpha 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is an alpha release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
