Paris Hilton traveled to Dubai, took part in a TV prank with a crashing plane

Say it isn’t so! Paris Hilton lied: the famous heiress, socialite and businesswoman was the victim of a cruel prank while on her most recent visit to Dubai, in which she was made to believe that the plane she was in was about to crash and she literally had only minutes left to live.

Video of the prank leaked online last weekend and was followed by a report that she’d been so traumatized by the experience (because she was already afraid to fly) that she was preparing to sue the producers of the show.

As it turns out, she was in it from the start.

Paris knew, is an amazing actress

One of the reasons people believed that the prank was real and even started feeling sorry for Paris was that, frankly put, Paris isn’t that great of an actress. Anyone who’s seen her on the big or the small screen knows that her range is limited, for which reason she usually plays a version of herself in real life.

So when the video showed Paris freaking out, crying and praying, and grabbing onto the people next to her at the thought she was crashing with the plane into the water, because she was so convincing at it, no one even dared to think she might be on the prank.

Well, give the lady an Oscar already. TMZ says that Paris knew, as documents obtained from the producers revealed. She was paid a lot of money for the stunt and she wasn’t even the first celebrity on the list, as producers courted several other huge names, not referenced in the report.

Everything was well planed months in advance

The stunt was done under the careful supervision of authorities in Dubai. “Dubai official authorities are monitoring this show and providing us with security. If you want to make sure, you can contact the office of crown prince of Dubai, his majesty Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He himself will be supervising the progress of the project,” the document says.

It also details the entire hoax, saying cameras would be focused on the “celebrity guest” and his or her reactions when they’re told they have to jump out of the crashing plane or face certain death.

The document was sent to Paris and her management in March, so she’s had plenty of time to prepare for it.

Embedded below are 2 videos, one with bits from the prank and the other with Paris’ reaction about it when asked by paparazzi, as she was leaving the beauty salon. Knowing she knew, it makes sense for her not to show herself more outraged, doesn’t it?
