After the launch of the massive Paranoid Android 7.2 update more than two weeks ago, the guys over at Paranoid Android, a custom and very popular Android ROM, have announced the availability of a minor point release.

Paranoid Android 7.2.1 is here as the latest version of the ROM, which remains based on Google's Android 7.1.2 Nougat mobile operating system, to implement a few improvements over the previous 7.2.0 release, including three fingers swipe down gesture for screenshots, an updated Paranoid Android browser, better handling of carrier provisioning, as well as Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE improvements.

The Paranoid Android 7.2.1 update is also here to squash a few bugs that users reported since the release of Paranoid Android 7.2.0, including issues with tethering, pocket lock media control interaction, sensors, PIE sensitivity, and the launcher layout, as well as to add various performance improvements and other stability fixes and minor UI tweaks and enhancements.

Paranoid Android now available for Xperia X and Xperia X Compact

The good news continues with the fact that Paranoid Android can now be installed on the Sony Xperia X and Sony Xperia X Compact smartphones, as the Paranoid Android devs have listened to the community's requests over the last few weeks. In addition, they added support for Nexus 5 (hammerhead) devices, and improved support for OnePlus 3/3T, OnePlus X, Nexus 6P, Nextbit Robin, OnePlus One, and LeEco Le Pro3.

"We're overwhelmed by the response of the community. Over 1000 of you have replied to our survey regarding Sony devices. We already had two devices ready for a while and are happy to add the Xperia X (suzu) and the Xperia X Compact (kugo) to the lineup," said the devs in the Google+ announcement. "We'll continue to keep the survey open as we decide which devices to support further. Please cast your votes here."

Lastly, Paranoid Android 7.2.1 brings a fresh new boot experience by adding new boot animation made by in-house designer Espen Flagtvedt Olsen. The new boot animation has a small surprise to it, so you'll have to update your devices to Paranoid Android 7.2.1 to check it out. Don't hesitate to check out the Google+ announcement if you're curious to know what's been improved in Paranoid Android 7.2.1 for your Android smartphone.
