Parallels launched today the Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac software, a commercial virtual machine manager that allows users to run entire operating systems on top of Apple's Mac OS X platform.

Being in development for the last year, Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac brings awesome new features, such as support for the recently released Windows 10 operating system from Microsoft, as well as the Cortana virtual assistant. Also, users will also be able to install Parallels Desktop 11 on the Beta builds of the Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system.

Prominent features of Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac include faster performance, better battery life, the ability to see Windows content with Mac QuickLook, support for using Mac's Location Services inside Windows, OS X's printing options are now available in Windows, a Visual Studio plugin that lets developers debug inside any version of Windows, a network simulation tool, support for controlling virtual machines from the command-line, and direct support for Docker, Chef, Jenkins, and Vagrant.

"Use Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Access, and hundreds of other Windows applications not available on the Mac. Quickly switch between Mac and Windows. Seamlessly utilize Mac features inside Windows and leverage Windows' strengths on your Mac. Parallels Desktop will automatically tune for what you’ll use it for the most: productivity applications, design, or development—even gaming."

The powerful features of Parallels Desktop

With this occasion, we would like to remind those who don't know what Parallels Desktop can do for them that the software is capable of running Mac and Windows apps side by side, converts Boot Camp installations of Microsoft Windows into virtual machines, and offers a wide variety of customization options, as well as predefined profiles for the best performance.

Besides Microsoft Windows, you will also be able to run Linux, OS X, or Google Chrome OS operating systems with Parallels Desktop. The latest version, Parallels Desktop 11, is available for download as a 14-day trial right now from Softpedia, or you can purchase the full edition for the sum of €79.99 ($88) for the Desktop Edition. Pro and Business editions are also available on the project's website.
