The P211 is the latest OPS from Giada Technology, a respected manufacturer in mini PCs, embedded computing, and servers.

OPS means "Open Pluggable Specification," a technology initiated by Intel and it's the first Industry initiative to standardize display and video signage for intelligent, cost-effective, and easily integrated modular digital signage applications. Basically, it makes computing, digital signage applications, and development much easier to install with a hassle-free maintenance.

In this trend, the Giada P211 is an OPS compliant mini PC that simplifies installation and maintenance in all contexts and applications that need a mini PC ready like restaurants, presentation halls, digital cinemas, hospitals and schools. It comes with the latest CoreTM i5 / i3 Haswell/ Broadwell U Series CPU and Intel HD Graphics 5500/6000 with 4K video support providing more than enough performance needed for your day-to-day business applications. Unfortunately, the 4K graphics will have only an HDMI 1.4a output port so UHD availability will be limited in the lack of a DisplayPort.

Handy remote controls are always welcome

The Giada P211 also supports remote control features and enables easy installation, use and maintenance of digital signage on all electronic whiteboards.

Together with its metal chassis, it is specially designed for optimum heat dissipation while using a lower consumption of 15W TDP. It also features UHD playback ability, but unfortunately it displays its 2K output resolution on HDMI 1.4a output together with multi-channel digital audio.

Apart from the OPS JAE interface, the P211 provides rich connectivity with 2 x USB2.0, 2 x USB3.0, 1 x COM, 2 x Mini PCIE (for mSATA III, Wi-Fi/BT/3G) and 1 x SIM card slot for 3G. Giada has also patented an interesting JAHC unattended technology to P21, that incorporates built-in capabilities for unsupervised operations such as auto power when connected to a power source, and more interestingly a scheduled power on/off and IR remote control before the OS is on.

According to their official website, compatibility will be available for the majority of popular operating systems including Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Linux.
