OnePlus is keeping up the tradition with frequent and meaningful OS updates for some of its smartphones. The OnePlus 3 is now eligible for another beta build, for those who don't mind experiencing some issues, aside from the usual new features and improvements.

Speaking of which, OxygenOS 3.5.5 Open Beta 6 comes with a handful of tweaks and enhancements, but also some general bug fixes. OnePlus also confirmed that, even if this is an open beta update, it should increase the overall stability of the system.

But these are not the only changes that the developers plan to push to OnePlus 3 units. The official changelog mentions that it adds OnePlus FileDash functionality, which is supposed to offer more convenient file transfers.

Also, a new ability to switch launcher layouts has been added, along with Google Maps integration, so users can share location information in messages. The phone calling UI has been redesigned, so OnePlus 3 owners who flash this build should notice some visual changes in that area as well.

OnePlus 3 owners will now be able to see personalized ringtone information in contact details. The folks at OnePlus also added a new ability to view the entire call history of the selected contact.

The build installs a new community app

Last but not least, the update installs the OnePlus Community App, which should make it easier to provide feedback on these beta builds, as well as remain informed on what's new in terms of updates.

If you plan to download OxygenOS 3.5.5 Open Beta 6, there are a couple of things that you should be aware of. For starters, if you've already installed a previous Open Beta build, then this update will arrive OTA (over the phone) on your OnePlus 3.

If this is the first time you install an Open Beta build, then you will have to flash this build by ADB sideload, so make sure you back up your data before proceeding further.
