14 DAY TRIAL // A new update to the popular ownCloud Desktop Client has been introduced, bringing numerous improvements and fixes for some of the most annoying bugs reported by users since the previous release.
ownCloud Desktop Client 2.2.3 is now the latest and most advanced version of the graphical application for ownCloud users who want to quickly access their files from an ownCloud server. The application was made available for all supported platforms, including Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.
According to the release notes, new features include better HiDPI (High Dots Per Inch) support on Microsoft Windows operating systems, support for file name casing on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X platforms, as well as support for ownCloud Server 9.1 or later when enabling permissions for federated shares.
Various Linux issues have been resolved
ownCloud Desktop Client 2.2.3 addresses problems with the tray icon of the application reported by users on GNU/Linux distributions by implementing a minimal mode as a workaround, along with a testing tool. Furthermore, it is now possible to override the URL in config, and backups are correctly detected again.
A few memory leaks have been fixed as well, a regression with the --exclude command-line option has been addressed, different pipe names are now used to avoid unusual delays, and a crash that occurred when attempting to shut down the system during propagation has been patched. Last but not least, junctions and symlinks are being skipped again on Microsoft Windows platforms, the memory usage has been decreased during sync operations, and it looks like the notification API Capability is only accepted if the endpoint is OCS-enabled.
