ownCloud 3 Officially Announced

ownCloud 3, a web-based storage application, has been released and brings new features that improves basic services.

Cloud applications are just making their way into our lives. ownCloud 3 is a storage application that offers flexible access to your data, either on your laptop, phone or just another PC, anywhere in the world where you can get Internet access.

With ownCloud 3 users can integrate this service with familiar file managers like Dolphin, Nautilus, Finder, and Explorer, and there is even support for Android and iOS.

There are quite a number of new features and here are some of them: privately controlled cloud file management, no proprietary lock-in, direct editing of text files, PDF viewer and Photo Gallery have been integrated, and integration between ownCloud and LDAP or Active Directory servers has been improved.
