The development team at Blizzard delivered a massive update for Overwatch last week, and the fan community has quickly moved to data-mine the new files to get access to a lot of new information about the future of the game.

The new Weekly Brawl mode, which is designed to mimic that offered by Hearthstone, is designed to introduce new takes on the custom game mode that use a variety of modifiers to keep the action interesting over a seven-day period before another switch takes place.

At the moment, with Overwatch in closed beta, the changes are faster so that the developers can test the core idea and see how the players react to it.

There are 14 core modes that will be first used for the hero shooter, and here they are with official descriptions from Overpawn:

- Super Shimada Bros. - Welcome to Hanamura. Genji and Hanzo only. Faster abilities, slower ultimates;

- Mystery Heroes - On death you will respawn as a randomly selected hero;

- Justice Rains From Above! - Pharah and Mercy take to the skies;

- Arcade - More health! Faster ability and ultimate cooldowns! Faster respawn;

- We’re All Soldiers Now - Soldier: 76 takes command of the Control Maps;

- High Noon - It’s high noon on Route 66. Headshots with McCree only;

- Show Your Support - All support heroes. Limited to 2 of the same per team;

- Tanks A Lot - All tank heroes. Limited to 2 of the same per team;

- Overly Defensive - All defense heroes. Limited to 2 of the same per team;

- Highly Offensive - All offense heroes. Limited to 2 of the same per team;

- Head’s Up!- McCree, Genji, Hanzo and Widowmaker. Headshots only;

- The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - McCree, Reaper and Roadhog duke it out;

- MOBA-watch - Unique heroes per team. No hero switching allowed;

- Girl Power - Female heroes only. Sorry boys.

Overwatch is team focused and allows for hero switching

The official patch for the Blizzard-made title arrived with a new map, called Route 66, and gamers will also get access to a range of new Achievements that they can strive for during gameplay.

The development team is aiming to offer an open beta soon to test the network infrastructure that will support the game and see how the core mechanics handle a high number of players.

Overwatch is team-focused, with gamers able to use 16 characters that can be changed between rounds to keep the action dynamic.

The game will be offered for full price, and the team at Blizzard is planning to come up with a range of free updates once the title is out.

Overwatch will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 on May 24 of this year.
