And then another hacking crew defaces that hacking crew

There's some drama on the hacking scene, with multiple hacking crews accusing one another of stealing the other's glory.

According to online tweets, a hacker known as Obstructable, part of the SkidNP group and linked to PseudoSec, has doxed members of the Phantom Squad, the group that threatened to take down the Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network this upcoming Christmas.

Doxing, skid accusations, and lots of drama

Now, SkidNP and Obstructable defaced the website associated with the Phantom Squad (see screenshots related to this post) and posted some information on two members on a PasteBin URL.

This message was left on Phantom Squad's website: "You took credit for multiple attacks that you nor any of your members did, we are not so happy about this so we've taken over your site, Here is a suggestion, Quit while you have the chance because if you take credit for the Christmas attacks, it will be the last thing you do."

A few hours later, another hacking group known as XTM took over SkidNP's Twitter account, doxed its content, and then defaced SkidNP's website as well.

Apparently, everyone involved is calling each other "skids" (script kiddies - derogatory term for hackers with no talent), and each group is taking credit for the DDoS attacks that hit the Xbox network in the past days, attacks that even resulted in some downtime until the end of last week.

Phantom Squad denies being doxed, announces Christmas DDoS timeline

In the meantime, Phantom Squad seems to have created a new Twitter account as the social network's staff shut down their previous one after the Xbox DDoS attack from last week.

The group denied getting doxed and called Obstructable a skid in return. As for their planned attacks on Xbox & PSN, the idea is to down the network for an entire week, between December 24 and December 30.

To get this done, the group has also enlisted the help of two other teams, VandaSec and PhantomSec.

Additionally, Phantom Squad also seems to have tried a low-power DDoS attack on PlayStation, just like the one on Xbox, but this failed, managing to bring down only the PSN US login servers, and only for a short while.
