Chinese handset maker Oppo is already present on the Australia market with several smartphone, but beginning July's end the company's portfolio in this country will get bigger with the addition of two new devices: Oppo R7 and R7 Plus.

While the Oppo R7 will go on sale in Australia via July 28, the improved version, R7 Plus will go on sale a couple of days later, AusDroid reports.

It looks like the Chinese company has partnered with major retailer Dick Smith to bring its smartphones to a wider audience.

This means that starting July 14, four Oppo smartphones will be available for purchase via Dick Smith, while the other two, R7 and R7 Plus will hit shelves later this month.

“We’re thrilled to be solidifying our presence in the Australian market through our partnership with the iconic Dick Smith brand. We feel the retail brand mirrors our values and goals of providing consumers with high-quality, state of the art technology devices, so we couldn’t have partnered with a better retailer,” said Michael Tran, Marketing Director at OPPO Mobile Australia.

There's no word on price tag yet, but Oppo R7 went on pre-order last month in the US for $400 (€360) outright, so the Australian price should be around that amount.

Both devices come with ColorOS 2.1

Those interested in Oppo's latest high-end smartphones should know that the R7 sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the other hand, the R7 Plus boasts a larger 6-inch AMOLE display with full HD (1080p) display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Both Oppo high-end smartphones are powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processors, Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB RAM.

Last but not least, they come with 13-megapixel rear-facing cameras that feature Schneider-Kreuznach optics, full HD (1080p) video recording and LED flash (dual-LED flash for R7 Plus), as well as 8-megapixel front-facing camera for great selfies.
