We reported about a week ago that Chinese company Oppo might launch a new affordable Android smartphone in Taiwan, the Mirror 5s. At that time, we did not know when exactly the smartphone will be unveiled, but we assumed it will be announced in early July.

It looks like we were pretty accurate as Oppo Taiwan has just announced the Mirror 5s. Unfortunately, the company only confirmed the handset will be available in white color. No details on pricing options and availability have been share yet.

However, we do hope that Oppo Mirror 5s will be available internationally, not just in China and Taiwan where it will probably go on sale in the coming days. Speaking of price, the Mirror 5s shouldn't cost more than $200 considering its specs sheet.

Obviously, Oppo might price the international version of Mirror 5s higher than the Chinese model, but not by much, hopefully.

Moving on to specs, Oppo Mirror 5s is a mid-range smartphone that ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and ColorOS 2.1 on top.

The specs aren't that disappointing at all

On the inside, the Mirror 5s is equipped with a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 2GB RAM.

Also, the smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Oppo's mid-range Android smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. There's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass, but that's to be expected since this isn't high-end device.

The device comes with a 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as 5-megapixel camera in the front.

Some of the features that Oppo's rear-facing camera offers users include: Beautify Mode 3.0, PI 2.0+ technology with depth of field and Double Exposure, selfie more and more.

Last but not least, the Mirror 5s offers dual-SIM support, along with many other connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.
