Windows 10 comes with a new browser called Edge, which features a new UI, a new engine, and new tools, but fortunately for those who don't want to stick to the default option, several companies have already expressed their intentions to launch their browser in Windows 10.

Opera is one of them and the firm today confirmed that a new version of its browser has already been submitted to the store and is now waiting for Microsoft's approval before becoming available for download for everyone.

Basically, universal apps should be able to run on all Windows 10 devices, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones, and that's actually the big secret behind Microsoft Edge.

The browser can be used on any Windows 10 device and this comes with several advantages, including seamless synchronization of browsing content and a familiar UI and experience on both PCs and smartphones.

Opera universal app?

In Opera's case, it's not yet clear if the company was working on developing an universal version of the browser, but for the moment, the Win32 flavor of the app is already working smoothly on Windows 10, just like Firefox and Chrome.

So if you really want to give a try to this browser in Windows 10, you can always download Opera and see what the Win32 version is all about. We've contacted the company to hear more about this new Windows 10 version and will update the article should we receive an answer.

Typically, the Windows Store app approval process doesn't take more than 48 hours, so the Windows 10 version of Opera should be here in just a few hours. If you're already on Windows 10, you can fire up the store and search for the app on your own to see when it becomes available, but be sure that we'll also let you know when this happens here on Softpedia.
