Opera Software, through Tomasz Procków, has informed all users of the Opera web browser that version 33 of the cross-platform software is now in development with lots of new features and numerous bugfixes.

Being based on the Chromium 46.0.2471.2 open-source web browser, Opera 33.0 build number 1963.0 landed in the development channels and brought with it a more perfected window vibrancy effect for Apple's Mac OS X operating system, which was initially scheduled for the Opera 32.0 release that is currently in the Beta stages of development.

Also for the Mac OS X platform, Opera 33.0 Dev fixes an issue with the Back and Forward buttons for the OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system, fixes the Cmd+Click keyboard shortcut to no longer close the menu when used on a bookmark in a bookmark bar folder.

Additionally, it fixes an issue with the Geolocation grey badge, enables the import tool on first run for the Mac installer, Mac OS X users are now being informed each time the web browser is out of date, an "out of place" issue with the address field on OS X 10.11 El Capitan has been fixed, and it displays the hostname in full-screen notification in bold.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Opera 33 has landed on developer," says Tomasz Procków. "Some of you may have noticed the new window vibrancy effect on Mac OS X in the Opera 32 developer release; we decided to postpose it until Opera 33, to make sure it looks perfect."

There are lots of improvements for Windows 10 as well

In addition to all the Mac OS X bugfixes, there are lots of improvements for Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system as well in Opera 33 Dev, such as the ability to display the Default Apps control panel when setting Opera as default web browser, a fix for a UI misalignment issue, and removal of the thick border on the Private window.

Furthermore, the black border around the rectangle located below the top tab bar has been removed, the Windows 10 installer now creates the scheduled task, URL images are now being displayed on web notifications, a couple of issues with notifications have been fixed, and the web browser is now isolated to the current virtual desktop in Windows 10.

Last but not least, Opera 33.0 Dev brings some compilation fixes for GNU/Linux operating system, fixing an issue with the ui/gfx/vector_icons_public.h file, the DEB packaging no longer fails for component builds, and the "–detect-odr-violations" linker flag is now disabled by default.
