14 DAY TRIAL // Just a few moments ago, November 27, the openSUSE Project, through Douglas DeMaio, announced the latest updates to the openSUSE Tumbleweed and openSUSE Leap 42.1 GNU/Linux operating systems.
During the week that has just passed, the OpenSuSE developers managed to release a single snapshot (version 20151123) for the rolling-release edition of the operating system, Tumbleweed, which updated the terminal font to Adobe Code Pro. Additionally, it introduced the Roboto font as the default one.
"Tumbleweed had one snapshot so far this week that brought more appeal to users of openSUSE," said Douglas DeMaio. "The fonts are not only available in Tumbleweed; users of Leap can update the fonts as an option. The reason for the change was to provide a more appealing, complete font."
The recently released Wireshark 2.0 open-source network analyzer software was added in openSUSE Tumbleweed, along with the libpoppler57, libqpdf17, and bundle-lang-common-ca packages. Moreover, the openSUSE developers managed to release some fixes for the GStreamer 1.6 multimedia backend and Boost 1.59 library, which will arrive soon into a new Tumbleweed snapshot.
What's new for openSUSE Leap 42.1
For the stable openSUSE Leap 42.1 operating system, the devs published several updates to some of the most important components. For example, the Machinery Project was updated to version 1.16.2, and all the maintenance updates for SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 Service Pack were implemented for things like GNOME, Java, systemd, and Samba.
