Introduced by Softpedia at the beginning of October 2012, the first Release Candidate of the upcoming openSUSE 12.2 ARM operating system got a lot of attention from both ARM and openSUSE fans.

Today we’re announcing that OpenSuSE 12.2 ARM is getting closer to a final release, as Jos Poortvliet announced the immediate availability for download of the second Release Candidate, which is also the final development release.

openSUSE 12.2 ARM RC2 brings support for Calxeda Highbank, CuBox, IMX 53 and Samsung Origen.

This release also fixes some imaging and packaging issues, as well as various fixes for booting machines without RTC. It adds an update repository, and a YaST firstboot stage for configuring language, country, root password, and user login.

Download openSUSE 12.2 ARM RC2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
