Benjamin Brunner sadly announced a couple of days ago that the openSUSE 11.3 Linux operating system reached end-of-life (EOL) on January 20th, 2012.

As originally announced by Softpedia two months ago, support for openSUSE 11.3 is now officially dropped, which means that starting with January 20th, 2012, the openSUSE project will no longer feed the openSUSE 11.3 operating system with security or critical fixes, and software updates!

"With the release of release-notes-openSUSE on Friday 20th of January SUSE has released the last update for openSUSE 11.3. openSUSE 11.3 is now officially discontinued and out of support by SUSE." - said Benjamin Brunner in the announcement.

Existing openSUSE 11.3 users have now the opportunity of upgrading to the next-generation openSUSE 12.1 operating system, which can be grabbed right now from Softpedia.
