We’ve been hearing lots of rumors lately related to OnePlus’ upcoming mid-range phone which has been dubbed by the rumor mill either OnePlus X or OnePlus Mini. The specs of the purported device have leaked in the wild several times before, but it seems they keep changing all the time.

One of the most recent leaks would have us believe that the OnePlus Mini will arrive with a Snapdragon 801 under the hood. Well, this week we get another report which indicates this will not be the case.

According to the latest hearsay (spotted at G for Games), the phone will take advantage of the more advanced MediaTek Helio X10 processor instead, which is a 64-bit affair clocked at 2.2GHz and is made up of high-performance Cortex-A57 cores.

OnePlus is expected to also throw in 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with a microSDXC card slot to help out with memory expansion. We’re also told that the handset will boast a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which is more than acceptable given that the OnePlus 2 doesn’t offer more than that anyway.

OnePlus Mini seems like a decent device

What’s more, the OnePlus Mini is expected to take advantage of the same cameras the OnePlus 2 also features. That means customers will be able to enjoy the features of a 13MP rear shooter from Sony with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera. Sure, the flagship comes equipped with 4GB of RAM, while this model comes with only 2GB, but as you can see, the OnePlus Mini is shaping up to be quite a phone.

With the OnePlus 2, the Chinese company has removed the NFC support saying that users don’t really use it. Well, with the OnePlus Mini, the functionality might make a comeback. On top of that, the phone will support Quick Charge via the USB Type-C port and will be kept alive by a 3,000 mAh or 3,100 mAh battery.

The rumored price for the device is around the $250 / €223 margin, and given the specs it bundles, the mini version might actually prove to become a more popular product than the OnePlus 2 which customers haven’t been all too ecstatic about.

The phone should launch in November or December.
