The OnePlus 6 is just around the corner, and according to a new leak, the device is indeed expected to be a bit more expensive than its predecessor, though the price increase won’t be too substantial.

GizmoChina reveals that the OnePlus 6 pricing will start at $523 when equipped with 64GB storage, while the 128 GB will be sold for $602. The top-of-the-range configuration will hit the shelves at $697.

By the looks of things, the OnePlus 6 will use a dual-camera configuration in a vertical layout, just like the Samsung Galaxy S9, with the fingerprint sensor and the flash expected to be positioned under the camera.

On the front, the most striking change on the OnePlus 6 will be the addition of a notch, which the parent company is going to use in an attempt to reach a higher screen-to-body ratio and possibly to offer additional technology, such as improved facial recognition.

The device is very likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor, the same as on the US-based version of the Galaxy S9, and feature either 6GB or even 8GB RAM.

Launch later this month

As for the launch of the new OnePlus, the device could see daylight as soon as this month, though no specifics are offered right now. If this happens, the first units should become available in late April or in early May.

Overall, the OnePlus 6 is expected to be a welcome upgrade over the previous generation, despite the price increase likely to disappoint some fans of the brand. The OnePlus 5T, for example, was launched last year with a price tag of $475, so if the information included in this report is accurate, the base OnePlus 6T configuration could be approximately $50 more expensive.

More information should emerge very soon, as OnePlus will probably publish a teaser of the new model on social media in the coming weeks ahead of the official launch.
