OnePlus unveiled today on Twitter the Sandstone White edition of its latest flagship Android-powered smartphone, the OnePlus 5T, which will be avialable for purchase next week during CES 2018.

While the unveiling of the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White edition might not have to anything with the upcoming CES 2018 event that will take place between January 9 and 12 in Las Vegas, USA, we have to admit that it's a nice addition to the Slate Gray color option launched last year in November. The Sandstone White edition will cost 499€ or $499, depending on your location.

Unveild on November 16, 2017, OnePlus 5T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-Core processor and an Adreno 540 GPU, features a dual (16MP f/1.7 24mm and 20MP f/2.6 36mm) rear camera system with HDR, image stabilization, geo-tagging, touch focus, phase detection autofocus, 1.6x optical zoom, face detection, panorama, intelligent pixel technology, and dual-LED flash.

One of the best new features that OnePlus implemented in OnePlus 5T is the face unlock functionality that lets users unlock the smartphone with their face, and it's so fast the you won't believe it. Recently, at the request of numerous cutomers, OnePlus announced that it will port the face unlock feature to the OnePlus 5 smartphone through a software update, which is currently in beta testing.

Android 8.0 Oreo coming soon to OnePlus 5T

OnePlus 5T also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, and DLNA support, Bluetooth 5.0 LE (Low Energy) with A2DP and aptX HD support, built-in GPS with GLONASS, BDS, and A-GPS support, NFC, a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also features a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back in addition to the new face unlock functionality.

While OnePlus 5T comes with the older Android 7.1.1 "Nougat"-based OxygenOS operating system, OnePlus is working hard to bring us the latest Android 8 "Oreo" update, which features Picture-in-Picture support, Autofill, smart text selection, notification dots, background limits, and Android instant apps. A beta version of Android Oreo-based OxygenOS is now available for public testing.
