It also optimizes the battery and GPS accuracy

OnePlus announced that it started rolling out the incremental OxygenOS 4.5.14 OTA (Over-the-Air) software update to the OnePlus 5 Android-powered smartphone series.

Probably the most important issue addressed by the OxygenOS 4.5.14 OTA update is that critical KRACK (Key Reinstallation Attack) security vulnerability, which affects virtually any smart device that connects to the Internet through the WPA2 protocol.

This alone should be the main reason to update your OnePlus 5 smartphones right now. However, the OxygenOS 4.5.14 OTA update also optimizes battery usage for some users, as well as the accuracy of the GPS, not to mention that it fixes many other bugs.

"For those who were on previous versions for OnePlus 5, we appreciate your active feedback and attempts to reach out to us. With your help, we have been able to better optimize and improve several key areas," said OnePlus developer Jimmy Z. in the forum announcement.

India's Airtel VoLTE, Canada's Band 66 of Freedom now supported

With the OxygenOS 4.5.14 OTA software update, OnePlus brings support for Canada's Freedom Mobile Band 66 LTE and India's Airtel VoLTE (Voice over Long-Term Evolution) standards. So make sure you update your OnePlus 5 devices if you want to use these services.

As mentioned before, the OxygenOS 4.5.14 OTA update is an incremental one, which means that it will be available only to a small number of OnePlus 5 users in the first week from release, but it's coming soon to a broader audience in the next few days.

All OnePlus 5 users are encouraged to update to the OxygenOS 4.5.14 software as soon as possible. To update, simply use the built-in OTA (Over-the-Air) update system of the device through the Settings app. Your device will be restarted automatically during the update process.
