A fix will be released, but only after the Nougat update

Even though the OnePlus 3T launch in Europe attracted large crowds, that doesn't mean the smartphone is perfect. Although it's just an incremental upgrade over the OnePlus 3, the new model inherits some of the previous flagship's problems.

It appears that many OnePlus 3T owners report severe touchscreen latency issues, which won't be solved anytime soon if we are to believe Carl Pei, the company's co-founder.

So, the delay between the user's input and the response on the touchscreen seems to be OnePlus 3T's Achille's heel.

Standard flagship smartphones have a latency of about 50ms, but in OnePlus 3T's case, it can reach 93ms, which is extremely annoying in day-to-day use.

While the touchscreen latency issues do not necessarily make the OnePlus 3T unusable, they do affect the overall user experience, and not in a positive way.

Now, OnePlus seems to have already acknowledged the issue, so one would expect the Chinese company to try and address the touchscreen latency problems on the OnePlus 3T as soon as possible.

However, things aren't as simple as they seem. Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, has taken to Twitter to let fans know that his company is already working on a fix for the touchscreen latency issues.

The bad new is the problems with the display that many OnePlus 3T owners have complained about are not a priority for the Chinese company.

According to Carl Pei, his company is aware of the touchscreen latency issues and it will look into them very soon. However, for the time being, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is of higher priority.

OnePlus promised to provide 3T and 3 owners with an Android 7.0 Nougat update by the end of the year, so we assume the company is hard at work making this possible. After that, we can talk about fixing the touchscreen latency issues.
