OnePlus released the OnePlus 3 earlier this month, and the powerful device was dubbed the “flagship killer” because of its advanced specs and beautiful design. Until now, the smartphone has undergone multiple tests, and the latest evaluates its durability and shows how the handset performs when it gets scratched, heated or even bent.

OnePlus 3 has been quite well received on the market since its release, which was to be expected since it’s reportedly the only device that OnePlus has scheduled to debut this year.

OnePlus 3 has been subjected to a series of tests yet again. YouTuber JerryRigEverything has uploaded a video showing how the OnePlus 3 gets scratched, bent and subjected to many other experiments. The uploader particularly wanted to see how the device would perform in the durability test, considering that the company stated that it’s carved out of a single slab of aluminum.

OnePlus 3 performed quite well during durability tests

The first test that the OnePlus 3 underwent was a scratch test on its Gorilla Glass display, and the smartphone performed quite well and only suffered light damage.

The home button is made of ceramic, and OnePlus 3 didn’t show any scratches on this surface, which means that the fingerprint scanner can last longer. The volume button and the speaker grille are made of metal, and the smartphone aced this test.

The Galaxy S7 Edge’s display lasted 14 seconds under an open flame, but the OnePlus 3 managed to recover and go back to normal. OnePlus 3 is one of the 25 phones that underwent the bend test, and the handset managed to survive heroically, without any permanent damage.

Just a few days ago, OnePlus 3 took on Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge during a speed test to evaluate the smartphone’s RAM management and see which one of these devices performs better when it comes to launching multiple applications and games at the same time.

Although OnePlus 3 comes with 6GB of RAM, compared to the Galaxy S7 Edge’s 4GB of RAM, the “flagship killer” didn’t perform as expected and lagged behind Samsung’s flagship.
