The head of software promises the update will arrive soon

Great news for OnePlus 3 users, as the Chinese company has just confirmed that its current flagship smartphone will receive the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update by the end of this year.

According to Brian Yoon, head of software at OnePlus, an Android 7.0 Nougat beta community build will be released sometime this month, Engadget reports.

The community build will be available to everyone that wants to test an update before it goes live for the general public.

Obviously, this means that you shouldn't complain about issues and bugs that come with the build, but you are strongly encouraged to offer feedback on any problem that you might find.

More importantly, the final version of Android 7.0 Nougat for the OnePlus 3 will arrive before the year's end, which makes us believe that OnePlus' engineers have worked hard to bring this update to the company's customers.

But that's not the only big news for OnePlus fans, as Yoon also confirmed that other smartphones in the company's portfolio, like the OnePlus 2, will also receive the Nougat update.

The only thing that remains to be determined is the timeframe of its release, although we don't believe that's possible until next year.

OnePlus is expected to unveil a new high-end smartphone on November 15, and everyone believes it will be the OnePlus 3T, an improved version of the company's current flagship.

The 3T is supposed to be OnePlus' first Nougat-powered smartphone. Aside from the new OS, the OnePlus 3T will also include some improvements over the OnePlus 3, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and a better Sony IMX398 camera sensor.

Rumors also claim that this could be the world's first smartphone to pack 8GB of RAM, which seems a bit of an overkill, even if Android OS usually requires a lot of resources to function smoothly.
