14 DAY TRIAL // Google has already confirmed its digital assistant will arrive on all compatible Android devices in the coming months. Although the search giant wasn't specific in regards with the timelines, it did say that Google Assistant would arrive OTA (over the air) on all smartphones powered by Android Nougat and Marshmallow.
The rollout of the digital assistant started last week and was aimed at English users in the United States. However, Google has announced its digital assistant will be released to English users in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as German speakers in Germany, in the coming weeks.
The good news is that we now know Google Assistant has started arriving on the OnePlus 3, a flagship smartphone that's already been updated to Android 7.0 Nougat early this year.
One of PhoneArena's readers claims Google Assistant has arrived on its OnePlus 3, but he did not say in what country he got the update. It's also worth mentioning that even carrier-branded smartphones will be getting Google Assistant without network operators having to test the update.
Google has confirmed its Assistant is part of a Google Play Services update, which will be pushed in stages to all compatible Nougat and Marshmallow smartphones. So, if you see that a Google Play Services update is available for your devices, then you should expect to get Google Assistant as well.
If you haven't yet used Google Assistant on your smartphone, here are a couple of questions that you'll be able to use when it becomes available: “What’s my confirmation number for my London flight?,” “Take me to Museu Picasso,” “Show my photos of sunsets in Tahoe,” “Do I need an umbrella today?,” “Turn on the living room lights.”
The rollout of Google Assistant to all compatible Android smartphones shouldn't take more than a few months, but here is to hoping that most customers will get it sooner rather than later.
