As we're getting closer to the end of the year, the chances that OnePlus 3 and 3T owners will receive the promised Android 7.0 Nougat update become slimmer and slimmer.

At least OnePlus 3 owners can install Android Nougat beta builds on their phones, but we can't say the same thing about OnePlus 3T users. The Chinese company promised weeks ago that Android 7.0 Nougat would be ready for both OnePlus 3 and 3T by the end of the year.

Also, OnePlus has confirmed that its newest flagship smartphone, the 3T, won't be getting any Android Nougat beta updates like the OnePlus 3.

Anyway, it appears that OnePlus 3 has just received the OxygenOS open beta 10, which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The update doesn't bring any new features, but it adds some improvements, optimizations and fixes.

The official changelog published by OnePlus on the phone's forums mentions that the beta build adds Data Saves and fixes the lockscreen clock bug in Portrait Mode.

In addition, the update is meant to optimize fingerprint unlocking speed and the quality of expanded screenshots. It also fixes an issue of reverting to Default Theme after reboot and optimizes Wi-Fi and system performance along with battery consumption.

If you really want to try this new beta build on your OnePlus 3, then you should know that if you have flashed a previous Open Beta build on the phone, this update will arrive OTA (over the air).

Otherwise, you will have to flash this build using AD sideload. Make sure to make a backup because your data may or may not transfer to the new version of the OS.

One more thing that you should be aware of is the fact that if you flash an Open Beta build, you will continue to receive Open Beta builds via OTA (but not official OTAs). You must manually flash back to an official build to continue to receive official OTAs.
