After all that hype, OnePlus has at long last unveiled the OnePlus 3 during the highly anticipated Loop VR event held in a virtual reality space station. Finally, previous rumors about the smartphone have been confirmed, and it's been shown that the OnePlus 3 is truly a flagship killer.

OnePlus 3 is a significant upgrade over the company’s previous flagship, the OnePlus 2. In fact, it packs a much more advanced SoC, specifically the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, compared to the 810 model on the previous version.

Moreover, OnePlus has improved the graphics processing unit on the OnePlus 3 and incorporated the Adreno 530. It has also increased RAM capacity to 6GB, but it's kept the display size and resolution the same, with the handset sporting a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 pixel PenTile AMOLED screen.

Advanced rear camera that’s a clear improvement over the OnePlus 2

OnePlus 3 is slightly smaller and thinner than its predecessor, measuring 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35mm and weighing 158g. It also comes with a much-improved rear camera, 16MP f/2.0 aperture with OIS, while the back camera on the OnePlus 2 had 13MP. The rear camera on the flagship killer comes with a Sony IMX298 sensor that ensures great accuracy and image quality.

Storage capacity on the OnePlus 3 is set to reach 64GB, and the smartphone sports a USB 2.0 Type-C connector together with the 3.5mm audio jack, unlike the Moto Z series. OnePlus 3 will come with a 3,000mAh battery as well as Dash Charge, which will allow users to charge 63% of the battery in just 30 minutes.

OnePlus 3 comes in multiple graphite finishes, and it will also have a gold variant after the release. OnePlus 3 is priced at $399 for the 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage version, and it’s available on the manufacturer’s website and also during pop-up events that will be held around the world.
